Public Warned To Stay Away From Mountain Fire: Meriden Police
Police are asking residents to stay away from the area, including the woods, as helicopters are making water drops on the fire.

MERIDEN, CT — Meriden police are asking the public to stay away from the area of the Lamentation Mountain Fire, and specifically, the area behind the CARABETTA’s Property on Canyon Drive.
Police said helicopters are using the area to facilitate water drops on the fire.
“The public is also being warned to refrain from entering the woods in this area as well,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “You are impeding firefighting personnel and it is extremely dangerous to be there with water being dropped from helicopters.

“This area is also flight restricted and those flying drones are warned to refrain from this activity as well. It’s dangerous for the helicopter pilots and also prohibits them from taking flight.
“Failure to adhere to these warnings may result in criminal arrest. Please help us help emergency personnel do their jobs safely.”
