Woman Critically Injured In Head-On Crash In Meriden: Police
Two drivers were hospitalized after a head-on crash in Meriden, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A woman was critically injured in a head-on crash Friday night in Meriden, according to police.
Crews responded around 10:20 p.m. on Aug. 22 to a report of a rollover crash with a driver entrapped near the intersection of Research Parkway and Pond View Drive, according to Sgt. Adam Kery.
The Meriden police and fire departments responded, along with Hunters Ambulance, and found a two-vehicle collision with multiple injuries, according to Kery.

Kery said an investigation determined that a white Volkswagen Jetta was traveling northbound on Research Parkway. The Volkswagen crossed the center line before colliding with a blue Toyota Sienna that was traveling southbound, according to Kery.
“Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage and the Volkswagen left the roadway, rolling over onto its roof,” Kery wrote in a news release. “First responders were able to extricate the Volkswagen driver.”

Kery said the driver was taken to Hartford Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition late Friday night.
The driver of the Toyota also sustained “significant injuries” and was taken to the hospital, according to Kery.
Kery said the driver of the Toyota was able to answer questions and was cooperating with investigators.
