2 Juveniles Accused Of Multiple Shooting Incidents: Middletown PD
Middletown Police Department Major Investigation Unit detectives worked diligently to identify the suspects.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – After an in-depth investigation by the Middletown Police Department Major Investigations Unit, two juveniles were charged for multiple shooting incidents, Middletown Police Department said.
It all started on Feb. 19, 2023, in a shooting on Glover Street, police said.
The investigation revealed that several rounds were fired into #18 Glover Street, which numerous individuals occupied at the time, and it is believed that one of the residents of the address was a target of the shooting, police said.

The shooting suspects fled the scene in a vehicle stolen from a different Middletown residence the previous evening.
A month later, on March 23, 2023, a shooting occurred in the roadway of the 700 Block of Westfield St., police said.

The investigation revealed that several rounds were fired from two different weapons, from one moving vehicle into another. The victims of this shooting pulled their car over and fled to safety on foot while the suspects fled the scene in their car that had been stolen from a different city before the shooting, police said.
Investigation revealed the shooting was determined to be a targeted shooting, police said.
Detectives from the Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit worked diligently to identify the same two suspects as the shooters in both incidents. The suspects were identified as a 15-year-old man and a 16-year-old man who reside in Middletown, police said.
The juveniles were charged and taken into custody. Their case was transferred to adult court, where they were issued $250,000 surety bonds, which they posted and were then released, police said.
Detectives continued their in-depth investigations and obtained arrest warrants for both juveniles for the Feb. 19 shooting, police said.
On May 15, 2023, the juveniles were again located, charged and taken into custody for their involvement in that shooting, police said.
Their case was transferred to adult court, where they were issued $100,000 surety bonds, police said.
One juvenile posted a bond and has since been released. The other remains in custody at this time, police said.
During the investigation, Middletown Police Major Investigations detectives uncovered valuable evidence that linked the same two juveniles to a March 11, 2023, attempted murder in which an individual was shot multiple times while driving in his vehicle on Route 9 in Cromwell, police said.
The evidence was turned over to the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Division, who used it to obtain arrest warrants for that case, police said.
Due to the evidence provided and collaboration between agencies, both juveniles were charged on Sept. 5 and taken into custody, police said.
One was held on a $750,000 surety bond, and the other was held on a $500,000 surety bond, police said.
The case has also been transferred to adult court, police said.
