CHC Breaks Ground On New Knowledge and Technology Center
The Community Health Center will be celebrating its 45th anniversary by breaking ground on its Knowledge and Technology Center.
From Community Health Center: Joined by state and local officials and community partners, Community Health Center, Inc. will break ground for its Knowledge and Technology Center in Middletown at noon on May 1, the 45th anniversary of the organization’s founding. Among those participating in the ground breaking ceremony will be Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Middletown Mayor Dan Drew and a 2nd grade class from the Macdonough School.
The event celebrates the new three-story, 30,000 square foot building that will house information technology, telehealth, communications, human resources and other support functions for CHC’s statewide primary care network.
“This new building is an important milestone in our commitment to providing comprehensive, high quality healthcare to the underserved,” says Mark Masselli, president and CEO of CHC. “It will allow us to centralize our support functions, making us much more efficient and freeing up space at other sites for more clinical care and health education services.”

It will also provide much needed space for the Weitzman Institute and its research and workforce development initiatives that are transforming primary care here and across the U.S.
“Our work doesn’t occur in a vacuum,” says Masselli. “We are so grateful to all our staff and to the thousands of friends and colleagues who have contributed to our work. It has been an amazing 45-year journey, and the Knowledge and Technology Center will help lead us boldly into the future.”
