Store Accused Of Selling Illegal Products: Middletown PD
Middletown Police Department detectives confirmed that narcotics were being sold from the building, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT – An undercover investigation led to a search warrant for unlicensed drug sales at a Middletown store, Middletown Police Department said.
On Sept. 1, 2023, Middletown Police Street Crime/Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at Munchiez Convenience Store, 58 Washington St., police said.
The warrant resulted from an undercover investigation into drug sales from a business not licensed to sell marijuana/THC products, police said.

During the investigation, detectives confirmed that other narcotics were being sold from this business, police said.
Upon execution of the warrant, detectives located a large amount of marijuana/THC products, psilocybin mushrooms, THC concentrate, packaging materials, business records and a large amount of US currency, police said.

The total retail value of sized illegal products being sold from the store was about $107,000, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing, and multiple arrests are expected, police said.
The store has been referred to other city departments for additional investigation, police said.
