An escaped convict who had been serving time for a violent crime was corralled in Middletown, police said.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — An escaped convict who had been serving time for a violent crime was corralled in Middletown, police said.
Police Friday said that multiple agencies from around the state have been trying to determine the whereabouts of Kyshone Jackson Jr, who was wanted on three warrants, two of which were for escape from custody, and one was extraditable nationwide.
Jackson had been convicted on May 25, 2021 for first-degree assault causing serious injury and criminal possession of a pistol in connection with a shooting in Middletown. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, suspended after seven and had been living in a halfway house before escaping, police said.

Detectives had determined that Jackson had been hiding at a Stoneycrest Drive residence in Middletown and, on Wednesday, Street Crime Unit officers located him in a vehicle and took him into custody, police said. Jackson was in possession of crack cocaine at the time of his arrest, police said.

- Interfering with police
The warrants charged Jackson with:
- First-degree escape (two counts)
- Failure to appear in court
He was held on bonds totaling $902,000 and was to appear in court Friday, police said.
