Back-To-Back Weekend Fires Reported In Middletown

Westfield Fire Department responded to a fire on Saturday, and Middletown Fire Department responded on Sunday.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown Fire Departments responded to two structure fires, one on Saturday and the other on Sunday.

On Saturday, around 5 a.m., the Westfield Fire Department responded to 1409 Country Club Road for smoke coming from a house.

The fire was knocked down, and the homeowners were not present at the time of the fire, and no injuries occurred, Westfield FD said.

The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating, officials said.

On Sunday, Middletown Fire Department responded to a 2-alarm blaze on Jackson Street in a vacant, 2 ½-story wood structure, Middletown FD said.

The fire was challenging due to the house being well off the road with an overgrown yard, Middletown FD said.

South Fire District and Westfield Fire assisted Middletown Fire Department, while the Meriden and Portland Fire Departments provided station coverage, Middletown FD said.
