July 22
TWO COUNTS VIOLATION OF PROBATION — At 4:48 p.m., Robert F. McGinn, 55, of Waverly Avenue, Portland, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

July 21
OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO DISPLAY PLATES — At 1:35 a.m., Ryan Sheil, 22, of Laurel Street was driving a Mazda RX-8 on South Main Street. The report says he became upset and "demanded to know why" his license was suspended.

July 20
OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — At 12:45 p.m., police were called to the Newfield Pizza plaza about a shoplifter Cheryl A. Russin, 55, of Silver Street, who was driving a Scion car lent to her that was parked in the lot.
OPERATION MOTOR VEHICLE WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, FAILURE TO DRIVE RIGHT — At about 10 a.m., Carley E. Bedell, 20, of West Main Street was driving on Washington Street in a car weaving all over the roadway and into the opposing lane of traffic, the report says.
July 19
SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR, SECOND-DEGREE LARCENY — At 3:54 p.m., Omar Espinal, 24, of Main Street was driving a Ford Focus on Woodward Avenue that had been called in to Connecticut State Police Troop H from Hartford as stolen, according to the report. It had been involved in an incident on Court Street being investigated by police, the report says. The car was valued at $17,495, police say.
July 18
INSURANCE COVERAGE FAILS MINIMUM, FAILURE TO DRIVE IN PROPER LANE, POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA AND LESS THAN HALF-OUNCE MARIJUANA — At 10:33 p.m., Zachary Gilbert, 21, of Jackson Hill Road was driving a Volkswagen GTI on Pine Street when an officer saw him swerve toward the double yellow line several times, according to the report, traveling once into the northbound lane. Once stopped, the report says, Gilbert appeared to be hiding something, then when asked for his registration, refused to open his center console. A search revealed a marijuana pipe and 4.5-inch switchblade, marijuana grinder, rolling papers and an Arizona Ice Tea can with a hidden compartment.
