Middletown Arrests: Aug. 29 to Sept. 4
The following police reports are obtained directly from Middletown Police and inclusion on this list reflect charges filed, not convictions.
Middletown Police report the following incidents:
Sept. 4
DISORDERLY CONDUCT — At 10:32 p.m., Hayward Smith, 44, of Pleasant Street entered the unopened It's Only Natural Restaurant on Main Street and asked for a job application while intoxicated, according to the report. He was surrounded by employees, the report says, and "bull rushed" out the door and they threw his bicycle to the ground. The owner told police three of her male employees asked Smith to leave but instead he sat down in a chair while she asked if his bike was outside, according to the report. She said Smith tried to punch her in the face but missed.

VIOLATION OF PROBATION — At about 12:35 p.m., Jermaine McCrea, 35, of Erin Street turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.
USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF NARCOTICS — At 2 a.m., Scott Morris, 42, of Bailey Road was found at home with an outstanding warrant.

Sept. 2
FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — At 3:58 p.m., Victor G. Peplau, 55, of Labella Circle was at a home on Deerfield Avenue when his sister called police to say he was on her property uninvited, according to the police. His clothing and tools were in the garage, police say, but there was a protective order for him to stay away from the whole family. He was seen riding his bike down the street and told police he came by once a week to change his clothes, knowing he wasn't supposed to be there but he had nowhere else to go.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, MPROPER USE OF MARKER PLATE, FAILURE TO HAVE VISIBLE HEAD LAMPS, OPERATION WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE — At 5:52 p.m., Brandie L. Zimmitti, 29, of Main Street was driving a Ford Ranger on Liberty at Prospect Street with a broken left tail light, according to the report.
OPERATION WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED, UNREASONABLE SPEED — At about 3:40 p.m., Angela L. Chadsey, 19, of Coe Avenue Extension, Portland, was driving a Hyundai on East Main Street near children who were playing at an excessive speed, according to the report, as the car leaned toward one side.
ASSAULT PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER — At 7:18 a.m., police were called to Tyron Street and Bow Lane about a drunk woman passed out in the woods. Christina Byrnes, 39, of Bow Lane, according to the report, was awake but heavily intoxicated, so she was brought to the hospital. There, the report says, she became verbally abusive toward nursing staff and slapped one in the neck.
STOP SIGN VIOLATION, ILLEGAL OPERATION UNDER SUSPENSION — At 2:43 a.m., Kenneth H. Ford Jr., 48, of Dobson Circle was driving a Mercury Sable on Linden Street at a high rate of speed, according to the report, then turned onto Frisbie without stopping at the sign.
Aug. 31
OPERATION WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE, WITHOUT REGISTRATION, OPERATION WHEN LICENSE SUSPENDED — At about 5:15 p.m., Antoine Lombardo-Pierce, 27, of Walnut Street was driving a Honda Civic on Route 9.
UNSAFE MOVEMENT, OPERATION WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE AND WITHOUT REGISTRATION — At about 9 p.m., Victor H. Kawakami, 31, of Denison Road was driving a Mazda M3S on Main Street Extension when he rear-ended a victim driving a Chevrolet Equinox on Route 9 near Exit 16, according to the report. The victim said she was having back pain but refused treatment, police say.
DUI, FAILURE TO OBEY CONTROL SIGNAL — At 8:10 a.m., Jennifer Gudelski, 32, of Ernest Drive, Durham, turned herself in on an outstanding warrant.
Aug. 30
SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — At 8:20 p.m., Jessica Criscuolo, 29, of Main Street Extension was at RiteAid Pharmacy on Main Street when a loss prevention officer saw her take hair gel and a box of Immodium, worth $15.48, without paying, according to the report.
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE AND WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE AND IN VIOLATION OF LICENSE CLASSIFICATION, IMPROPER USE OF MARKER PLATE — At 11:41 a.m., Omar Cruz, 22, of Rising Trail Drive was driving a Dodge Avenger on Washington Street and turned into Mellili plaza.
SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 10:59 p.m., Lawrence Trickett, 21, of Finch Avenue was driving a Chevy Silverado with a brake light out and was found with an outstanding warrant from Wethersfield.
Aug. 29
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE AND WITHOUT MINIMUM INSURANCE, IMPROPER USE OF MARKER PLATE — At 6:12 p.m., Rodrigo Zambrano, 40, of Terrez Place, Meriden, was driving a Volkswagen Jetta on Main Street with registration that belonged on a Nissan Maxima.
BREACH OF PEACE — At about 11:20 p.m., Thomas D. Martin, 42, of Cambridge Court put his arms around a victim's neck in a domestic assault on Dove Court, according to police.

Sept. 3
THREAT — At 11:25 a.m., Troop F in Westbrook, investigated a possible threat made at the Veterans Cemetery on Bow Lane in Middletown.
