Middletown Baseballs Falls to Branford in American Legion Championship

Branford won the American Legion Northeast Regional Championship at Palmer Field in Middletown 12-2 over Worcester, Mass, on Monday night.

A crowd of 800 — 619 paid — saw the game. More than 3,500 paid to see the entire tournament. Middletown finished in the top four with a 2-02 record with wins over Windham, Maine, and Worcester and a tough, 6-5 loss to Branford, and a loss to Barnstable, Mass. 

Branford will play Wilmington, N.C., in the Legion World Series in Shelby, N.C. on Friday night.
