Seven Middletown High Students are Commended Scholars

Seven Middletown High School seniors have achieved Commended Scholar status in the National Merit Scholarship Program.

A Commended Scholar status means that the seven students finished the qualifying PSAT/National Merit Scholarship test in the top five percent of students in the country out of a total of 1.5 million who took the test. 

"Commended students are being recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying test used for program entry," said Michelle S. Cicirello, executive director of Scholarship Administration in a letter to MHS Principal Colleen Weiner. 

Each student received an official Letter of Commendation with a congratulatory message. 

The seven students are James J. Robinson, son of Debra and Thomas Robinson, Terry Nguyen, son of Jeannie and Thanh Nguyen, Lucas Myers, son of Marilyn and Jesse Myers, Olive Kuhn, daughter of Sandra Kopell and Eric Kuhn, Alexander Kordonsky, son of Natalia Munikova and Yuri Kordonsky, Samantha Angle, daughter of Debra Guss and Stephen Angle, and Kyle Antmanis son of Amanda Amtmanis.
