MIDDLETOWN, CT – Middletown will host an educational and fun-filled opportunity for children and their caregivers to learn about wellness and safety.

Middletown’s Kids Health and Safety Day, set for Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be held on Main Street, between College Street and Court Street.

This year’s Middletown Kids Health and Safety Day is dedicated to the memory of South District Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Marshal Steve Krol, Kids Day Committee Member and friend.

The event features information, interactive exhibits, health screenings, child identification, a bicycle safety rodeo, a free car seat clinic, music, and more.

During the bicycle safety rodeo, children can bring their bikes for a free inspection and receive a free bike helmet.

Information on autism, development services, injury prevention, cancer prevention, disease prevention, child care programming, emergency management, exercise and fitness, family resources, nutrition, recycling, substance abuse, youth recreation and more will be available.

Exhibits include Meteorologist Joe Furey From WTNH News 8, fire safety, S.W.A.T, police cruisers, motorcycles, dive team and more.
