Obituary: Catherine Z. Schmidt, 73, of Middletown

Catherine Z. Schmidt

(January 5, 1943 - March 17, 2015)

Catherine (Zaklukiewicz) Schmidt, 73 of Middletown, wife of the late Roger Schmidt, died Thursday at her home with her family at her side. She was born in Middletown the daughter of the late, Eugene A. and Pauline F. (Jaros) Zaklukiewicz.

Prior to her retirement, Catherine was employed with the State of Connecticut at Long Lane School as a Youth Security Officer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making sure that their lives were the best she could make them.

Catherine is survived by a daughter, Deborah Ann Tucker of Middletown, two granddaughters, Nicole Annmarie Schwers and her husband Andrew of Middletown, Ashley Taylor Tucker of Middletown, a great grandson, Mason Ian Schwers, and a brother, Joseph Zaklukiewicz of Moodus also several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Walter and Eugene Zaklukiewicz.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 23, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends may call prior to the service from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be privately held at Calvary Cemetery.
