Obituary: Jessie H. Kulmacz, 92, of Middletown

Jessie was known for her big heart, listening ear, loving wisdom and her love of family.

MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Biega Funeral Home) Jessie H. Kulmacz, Matriarch, Mommy, Grammy, Aunt, left his life be an angel on the afternoon of December 23, 2021, she cracked her last earthly joke.

Born in New Britain, CT on March 7, 1929 to the late Adele (Hettlinger) and Valentine Herrmann. Jessie was the wife of the late great John S. Kulmacz and also predeceased by her longtime companion, Joseph V. Esposito.

Mother of son, S. Douglas Kulmacz and his wife Sharon (Marcantonio); daughters, Tracy McNamara and her husband, Michael McNamara, and Kristine Kulmacz; bonus children, Steven (Deborah) Esposito, Michael (Mary Lou) Esposito; grandchildren, Jorrie, Kaitlyne, Ian; special dear friends, Bonnie Deak, and Ray Lugo; adopted children, Rachael Palermo, Marc Austin, James Paresi, Jr., granddaughter, Breanne Hunt; Tony and Keith Bryan. Jessie was predeceased by her sister, Amanda Badrick; brother, Archie Herrmann, sister, Tootsie Herrmann, son, Bruce Kulmacz, granddaughter, Jayan Bryan.

Jessie was a Wilson High School Wildcat graduate and later attended Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing, Middlesex Community College where she earned an Associates Degree in Human Services.

She then went on to work at Middlesex Memorial Hospital, Middletown Board of Education (Snow School), Cromwell Crest and Gilead, Inc.

Family and friends were the biggest part of Jessie’s life, from Friday night spaghetti dinners, weekend picnics, camping, gardening, and keeping up with her family.

Her door was always open, as well as her heart.

She kept a listening ear, loving wisdom while not ever judging, and in all ways seeing the best in others.

“Look for the positive in people and you will see it, when you can’t, find it, just be polite, respectful and keep a distance.”

Mommy had far t0o many accomplishments to list, all who knew her and of her, have a story to tell. "Joe knows."

Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Monday (Dec. 27th) from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of her family.
