Obituary: Johannah T. Calcaterra, 73, of Middletown

Johannah, an avid artist, was known for her passion of quilting, all things Irish and was a dedicated special needs teacher.

MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Biega Funeral Home) Johannah T. Calcaterra, 73, of Middletown, CT, died Sunday October 31, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Albert J. and Veronica (Mackey) Calcaterra.

Johannah was a teacher in Canada and later Middletown, teaching special needs students.

She was naturally artistic and will be remembered for her passion of quilting and all things Irish.

She is survived by her longtime companion, Garry Allen of Middletown, CT, with whom she resided. Her brothers, James Calcaterra of Saddle Brook, NJ, Thomas Calcaterra of West New York, NJ, Robert Calcaterra of Saddle Brook, NJ and Michael Calcaterra of Waldwick, NJ; her nieces, Christine Mantineo, Diane Cantarella and her grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 7th at 4:30 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, CT.

Burial will be at the convenience of her family in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4:30 p.m., prior to the service.
