Obituary: Richard Alan Fishman, 66, of Middletown

Richard worked many years for Connecticut Plastics in Wallingford, proudly served in the Air Force and was always dedicated to his family.

MIDDLETOWN, CT - (From Doolittle Funeral Home) Richard Alan Fishman, 66, of Middletown, husband of the late Marla (Shea) Fishman, passed away on December 31, 2021 at Midstate Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Alice (Citrin) Fishman.

Richard lived in Middletown for many years and was employed by Connecticut Plastics in Wallingford retiring in 2019.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, cookouts, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren who were his whole heart.

Richard was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Richard is survived by two sons, Benjamin Fishman of Clare, MI; three daughters, Aisha Shea of Middletown, Caroljean Ancion of Mulberry, FL and Traci-Lyn Fishman of Middletown; two brothers, Robert Fishman of Helena, MT and Michael Fishman of Farmington; a sister, Maddie Ginsberg of South Windsor; thirteen grandchildren, Destiny, Christian, Logan, Emery, Justice, Journey, Arianna, Anthony, Jazmyn, Colin, Deven, Quincy, and Jordan; and two great grandchildren, Jaylanis and Jolee’Ann.

Along with his wife and parents, Richard was predeceased by his sister, Joanne Sylvestre.
Family and friends may call on Friday, January 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown where masks are required.

A graveside service will be held in the spring on May 7, 2022 at 11:00 am in the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown where full military honors will be accorded.
