PD: Paroled Felon Caught at Home Crack Factory With Girlfriend
Middletown residents complained about the duo's drug sales in a public housing project, which led to a warrant and eventually their arrests this week.

A city man on parole after a narcotics bust and a record of drug-related convictions was caught in an apartment with his girlfriend with evidence of crack factory, according to Middletown Police.
During a November 2011 narcotics operation by Middletown police, undercover detectives bought crack cocaine from Cedric C. Bass, 32, and was found with a large amount of the drugs and on Jan. 9 of this year, he was sentenced to a year in jail, according to the report.

On April 18, Bass was released on probation and lived in an apartment in Traverse Square, however police learned he was again selling crack in a public housing project with his girlfriend, Nikiya Bond, 28, of Traverse Square, documents say.
On Aug. 2 at 5:30 a.m., narcotics, patrol and major investigations units again served a warrant on Bass, according to the report, after receiving many complaints from residents.

A search revealed a cooking pot on the stove with cocaine residue inside, according to the report, a common way for narcotics traffickers to add "cutting agents" to make more crack and maximize profits. In the kitchen, police found plastic bags used for cocaine, and a partially burnt marijuana cigarette, and in the bedroom an electronic scale that looked like a cell phone. In the living room, documents details, a cell phone was found and other cell phones constantly ringing and receiving texts.
Two individuals were later arrested for trying to buy crack from the residents, the report says.
Bas had "tainted" cash in his pockets, the report says, totaling $510. He is a convicted felon who was found guilty of possession of narcotics, failure to appear, probation violation, second- and third-degree assault, possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, police say.
Both were charged with non-student possessing drug paraphernalia near a school and in a drug factory, possession with intent to sell, possession and distribution of controlled substances within 1,500 feet of a school, possession less than half-ounce marijuana.
