Police Dispatcher Offers to Hire Prostitute for Teen, State Police Allege
Middletown Police arrested Jeffrey Paul Norton after he allegedly tried to orchestrate a male teenager's sexual activity.

Waterbury resident and dispatcher at Troop I in Bethany, Jeffrey Paul Norton, was arrested on charges of risk of injury to a minor and enticing a minor.
On March 2, Norton turned himself into the Middletown Police Department under an active warrant, according to a report from police. He was read his Miranda Rights and was cooperative, police said.
Norton was released on a $1,5000 non-surety bond and issued a March 16 court date.
According to the Middletown Press, 48-year-old Norton allegedly talked with a 15-year-old boy via Facebook for six months and tried to orchestrate the teen’s sexual activity.
The investigation began in January 2016, when the teenager’s parents contacted police after observing the allegedly inappropriate conversations.
Norton, a resident of Bishop Street in Waterbury, allegedly told the teenager he would hire a prostitute for him, police reported in an arrest warrant.
The dispatcher was put on administrative leave.
