Big Changes Possible For Milford School Buildings: Report
The district's plan — which includes construction of a new school and consolidation — is the subject of an upcoming meeting.

MILFORD, CT — Milford Public Schools are weighing big changes that include constructing a new high school and consolidating schools, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.
The primary plan — one of five plans considered — would require obtaining land to build a new high school. Middle school students would then go to the two current high schools, and two current middle schools would house elementary school students.

The school district currently has eight elementary schools, three middle schools, and two high schools. The new plan calls for six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.
The long-range facilities plan will be presented to the public and the subject of a public hearing. The Board of Education special meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, at 7:30 p.m., at the Parsons Government Center Auditorium at 70 W. River St.

The Board of Education recently had its requested budget for fiscal year 2026 cut by $1.3 million and in turn approved a reduction of 14 staff positions. The school district also weighed closing Harborside Middle School during budget deliberations.
