Obituary: William J. Legere, Jr, age 98

William J. Legere, Jr, age 98, of Milford, beloved husband of Virginia Young Legere for 76 years, entered into peaceful rest on December 16, 2025 surrounded by his family.

William was born in Lynn, MA on January 24, 1927 to the late William J. Legere Sr. and Yvonne Gauguin Legere. William was a proud veteran of the US Navy and worked as a steel worker for Carpenter Technology for many years. Survivors include his children: William J. Legere III and his wife Amanda of Milford and Joyce Powers and her husband John of Oxford and five grandchildren, Jill, Jennifer, Victoria, Francis, Charlotte and Sophia and several nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his seven siblings.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2975 Nichols Ave, Trumbull, CT. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, December 23rd from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in THE GREGORY DOYLE FUNERL HOME, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.
