Fire Marshal Clerk Rose Colon Selected as Employee of the Month

The Selection Committee unanimously chose her as the winner for outstanding customer service, professional, positive attitude, and more.

From the City of Milford: As the recipient of the award for the Mayor’s Employee of the Month Program, please join us in extending a warm congratulation to Rose in receiving this recognition. After a review of all of the nominations, the Selection Committee unanimously chose her as the winner for her outstanding customer service, professional and positive attitude and incredible work ethic.

Rose began her employment as the Fire Marshal Clerk with the City of Milford on July 27, 2015. Rose is the first person to have direct contact with the public regarding all fire safety and fire code related issues. She corresponds with other City offices involved in the permitting process for plans received in the Fire Marshal’s Office. She works closely with the Building Department and the Director of Permitting and Land Use regarding all commercial building projects in the City.

Rose also assists with the Fire Marshal’s Office’s annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest. Open to all fourth and fifth grade students in the City, the contest is a 10 month long project involving coordination with the elementary schools, judging of all entries and preparing the celebration for the winners of the contest.

Rose attends to each of her daily tasks in a professional and cheerful manner. She is always ready to lend a hand to assist her co-workers. Rose attends classes and seminars to improve her job skills and increase her knowledge. Her dedicated service and professionalism are evident as she executes each of her job responsibilities. These are just a few of the reasons the Mayor extends his sincere congratulations and appreciation to Rose for the outstanding attributes she exhibits as Employee of the Month.
