MILFORD, CT — License plate scanners are being installed in Milford as part of a crime prevention program, according to WTNH News-8.

The scanners are used to identify stolen cars and stolen plates. The solar-powered cameras will be on streets near I-95 off-ramps for the five exits that go into Milford as well as near schools.

The city's strategic plan approved earlier this year also includes installing cameras to speed and red-light cameras.
