Loving Matriarch Ruth Gemmell, 85
Former member of the Orange VFW Ladies Auxiliary and longtime Milford resident Ruth Gemmell passes at 85.

Ruth Marilyn Bradley Gemmell, age 85, of Milford, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William Edward Wakefield Gemmell.
Ruth was born on Aug. 12, 1927 in Derby, CT to the late Roger Alling Bradley Sr. and Ruth Holden Bradley. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Yale University for 23 years, and was a former member of Orange Post VFW, Post 127, Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Gemmell-Garrett and wife Billie of Milford, Jane Warren and husband James of West Haven; grandchildren, Bradley and Matthew DeBiase, James Warren and his wife Maria, Kim Warren and fiancé Eric Sauter, Nicole Warren and Haley Warren; and great grandchildren Isabella and Jacob Warren.
Also survived by a dear lifelong, family friend Kim Coughlin, as well as many cherished cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Roger Alling Bradley Jr.
Calling hours were held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford with a prayer service at 2 p.m.
Interment in Orange Center Cemetery will be held at a later date.
