Man Throws Chair, Screams At Patrons In A Restaurant: Milford PD

Milford Police Department was called for a breach of peace incident On Tuesday, Oct. 17, for a man causing a disturbance.

MILFORD, CT — A man from Bronx, N.Y., was charged with a breach of the peace incident after picking up a chair and throwing it while inside Mexico Tipioco, Milford Police Department said.

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, officers were dispatched to Mexico Tipico for a beach of peace incident, police said.

Officers were met by the manager, who said that a man, later identified as Jerome Armstrong, 33, of Bronx, N.Y., was causing a disturbance, police said.

The manager pointed to Armstrong, who was crossing the street, and indicated that he was causing the disturbance, police said.

Arriving officers stopped Armstrong, and as they were walking him back to the restaurant, he began flailing his arms and body and jabbing his elbow into an officer’s chest, police said.

The manager stated that Armstrong was inside the restaurant at the bar when he became loud and started yelling at customers and staff, causing a disturbance, police said.

The manager asked Armstrong to leave, who then went outside continuing to yell, picked up planters and broke them, causing about $200 in damage, police said.

Armstrong re-entered the restaurant, screamed at patrons and threw a chair. The chair did not hit anyone, police said.

Armstrong was placed under arrest and continued to be uncooperative with officers, police said.

Armstrong was charged with 2nd-degree breach of peace, 2nd-degree threatening, interfering with an officer, 3rd-degree criminal mischief (2 Counts), police said.

A bond was set at $10,000, and a court date was set for Oct. 18, police said.
