MILFORD, CT — The world's "biggest bounce park," FUNBOX, just opened at the state's largest mall, the Connecticut Post Mall, and it will be sticking around for most of the summer, officials said.

"For the Very First Time the World's Biggest Bounce Park® is Making its Way to the East Coast, and It's Bringing Non-Stop Fun all Summer Long! FUNBOX is a 25,000-sq.-ft., inflatable playground filled with 10 play zones, including Tumble Temple, Marshmallow Mountain, Gumball's Gallop, and a giant obstacle course big enough for the whole family," Milford mall officials said on its website.

The new entertainment attraction opened on June 9. It will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be located in the rear parking lot across from Dave & Buster's, off of East Town Road. The bounce park will remain open through Sept. 4, according to Hearst CT.

Toddlers from ages 0-2 and seniors over 65 years are free when accompanied by a ticketed customer. It is recommended to purchase tickets online in advance to guarantee entry; any unused or unscanned tickets are honored within 30 days of the original ticket date, officials said. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult, and the adult must remain at FUNBOX while their children are inside the inflatables.

As retail has moved significantly online, malls across the country have been trying to adapt to the changing business landscape. Some malls are trying out new unique events and entertainment to fill spaces, while some are trying to convert the empty retail space into a mix of housing and retail.

A mall in Connecticut is posited to add a massive pickleball facility. The Milford mall has tried unsuccessfully to convert a portion of its property into an upscale apartment complex. The city of Milford has thus far rejected those plans.
