Milford Dog In Running For National Hero Dog Award

Jeffrey was due to be euthanized, but he was rescued and is now a champion competitor and therapy dog.

MILFORD, CT — Milford rescue dog Jeffrey is in the running for the 2022 American Humane Hero Dog awards.

Jeffrey was rescued from Manhattan Animal Care and Control in 2010 after being put on the euthanasia list, according to his biography on Hero Dog awards. He now lives in Milford as a dog show competitor, therapy dog and family pet.

He competes in rally obedience and became the first pit bull to earn the World Cynosport Rally's rally master champion title in 2019. Jeffrey holds nearly 60 titles in three different dog sports.
