Milford Mom Plans Memorial Service For Son, 33, Who Died In Stratford Crash

Her son died in a scooter crash about 1 year ago, and she is holding a memorial service at the accident site, News 12 CT reported.

STRATFORD/MILFORD, CT — One year ago, Kyle Wiltshire, 33, of Milford, died from injuries sustained in a scooter crash and his mother, Debi Barton, is inviting residents to a memorial service at the accident scene, News 12 CT reported.

The crash occurred on Ferry Boulevard in Stratford, and the memorial service will be held 7:15 p.m. Friday at 940 Ferry Boulevard, News 12 CT reported. Barton told News 12 CT that her son had special needs, and that he was beloved in the community. He worked for Stop & Shop in Milford and Stratford.

According to his obituary from the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, Wiltshire died on July 25, 2022 and he "worked at Stop & Shop for 18 years where he became part of the family. Kyle was a 2nd Lt. in the CT Minuteman Composite Squadron in East Haven for 3 years. Kyle was an avid volunteer with several charities including Trail of Terror in Wallingford for 7 years."

A GoFundMe was created in 2022 and nearly $12,000 was raised. "Kyle Wiltshire...has been a dedicated Stop & Shop employee since 2004. He is loved by all of his co-workers and has been an asset to the company for many years. On Thursday, June 23rd, Kyle was in a scooter collision not far from his job."
