Milford Public Schools Release New Info On Test Scores
The district said there is a clear trend in standardized test scores for students across the district.
MILFORD, CT — Milford Public Schools "have demonstrated notable academic progress on 2025 standardized testing," according to a statement from the district.
Students' results on the Smarter Balanced Assessments and SATs showed "significant growth across grade levels and subject areas. "
Third graders' scores jumped 27 percentage points over the past two years to reach 72 percent of students meeting or exceeding the target goal this year.

Fourth graders also saw a nearly 20-point increase over two years, while fifth graders advanced 12 percentage points over the previous year.
Elementary ELA performance has also risen steadily for three consecutive years, with students in third to fifth grades improving by 10 to 15 percent, respectively.

Students in grades six through eight "all demonstrated growth in their performance over the previous year."
At the high school level, 11th graders' SAT Math proficiency advanced, increasing four percentage points from the previous year.
High school students "demonstrated outstanding college readiness on the SAT," with writing scores going up nine percentage points to 72 percent, according to the district.
Additionally, 180 students were recognized as AP Scholars in 2025. The College Board award is given to students who demonstrate outstanding college-level achievement on multiple Advanced Placement exams. The number of students earning 3 or higher on the AP exam rose by 15 percent over the last two years, the district said.
“These results reflect the hard work of our students and staff, as well as the strong support from the Milford Board of Education,” Superintendent Dr. Anna M. Cutaia said in a statement. “To see a 27-point surge in Grade 3 Math over two years and double-digit gains in literacy affirms that our investment in high quality instruction, our commitment to curriculum revision, and the development of formative assessment strategies are working and paying huge dividends for our students' futures. We are immensely proud and energized to continue building on this success."
