Milford Resident Threatened With Gun By Catalytic Converter Thief: PD

One of three suspected catalytic converter thieves pointed a gun at a homeowner, police said.

MILFORD, CT — Police are investigating after a male pointed a gun at a homeowner during an attempted catalytic converter theft on Baldwin Street.

The homeowner interrupted the theft Feb. 2. There were three male suspects, and one of them pointed a gun at the resident, police said. All three suspects fled the area.

The investigation is ongoing.

A catalytic converter was stolen from an Express van at the Hilton Garden Inn and another was stolen from a Honda Accord at the mall on Feb. 2.

It's not the first time a suspected catalytic converter thief threatened or committed violence in Milford. A city man was seriously injured in June after a suspected thief ran a grinding wheel across his face. The victim required 300 sutures to close the wound.
