We asked Patch Readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:
- "Speeding on local roads, ignoring no turn on red signs, slowing at red lights and cruising through stop signs. I even saw a school bus blow a red light Friday on the Post Rd."
- "Another problem in Milford....the trucks that keep getting stuck under the bridges. Can't these drivers read the signs?"
- "Speeding - I was so happy to see a police car staking out North Street today! Bagged two people that I saw, and hopefully a lot more!"
- "Scooters and mopeds are a nuisance. They think they can ride in traffic, against traffic, alongside of traffic and everywhere pedestrians go. It's going to take someone getting seriously hurt or killed before they do something about them."
- "The idiot kids who ride motocross and ATV bikes down the streets doing wheelies and speeding like crazy, and their parents who are clueless"
- "People driving while on their cell phones. Almost had head on collisions twice in one week on Buckingham. Both times car crossed over the yellow line and both times they were on their phone!"
- "Agree... People driving too fast. Bad right turns on red, and unlicensed scooters and mopeds."
- "Potholes - Milford roads are terrible"
- "Disregard for traffic laws by motorists and bicyclists alike. Stop signs and red lights are optional and turn signals are seldom used."
- "Walking the boardwalk when it says no pets or bikes or skateboards and they still do it. Very dangerous for the walkers."
