Milford's New Self-Guided Walk Features Historical, Scenic Sights
The new self-guided walk allows visitors and lifelong residents to learn more about Milford.
MILFORD, CT — Milford has devised a fun new way to learn more about the city, whether you are a lifelong resident or a visitor.
Karen Fortunati created the Milford Mile to highlight the historical and scenic features of downtown.
“The Milford Mile is a great way to showcase the beauty and history of downtown Milford while promoting a healthy lifestyle,” Fortunati said.

Milford Mile is a self-guided prescribed walking path with beautiful views of Milford Harbor, the duck ponds and downtown.
Fortunati pitched the idea of the self-guided tour to Mayor Richard Smith, and with the help of the Department of Public Works and City Historian Art Stowe, the project is now underway.

“I’m grateful to Karen for bringing this idea forward. I greatly appreciate all the hard work from Director Chris Saley and the Milford Department of Public Works to make this project a reality,” Smith said.
The first few signs have been installed near Parsons Government Center and City Hall, and the Department of Public Works will install the remaining signs over the next few weeks.
