Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Jessica works directly with patients having corona virus at Bridgeport hospital. She doesn’t complain about her job or patients, she says “this is what I do.” I fear for her, she has no fear and continues to focus on the best care she can give her patients, even if it is just holding their hand and reassuring them that everything will be ok.
She has and is willing to work extra hours to cover more shifts. Jess has been recognized by the hospital for her excellent work and treatment of her patients. The stress that my daughter is under is vast and yet she comes home and is mom to her 9 month old baby girl. My daughter Jess is my hero and she continues to amaze me everyday with her medical expertise, her generosity and care that she gives to each of her patients, their families and her coworkers. But she doesn’t do this for notoriety and awards (although she has received many), she generally loves nursing and helping her patients. I couldn’t be more prouder of her.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Jess once told me, the care that I give to my patients is the care I would want nurses to treat my family if they were in the hospital. She is confident in her skills, she is nurturing to her patients, and she is dependable to be there when she is needed. Jess has a big heart and it shows professionally and personally.
Thank you Jessica for all that you do!
