Obituary: Ann M. Lumas, 93, of Milford

Ann, a dedicated cook, baker and quilter, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

MILFORD, CT - (From Pistey Funeral Home) Ann M. Lumas, age 93, of Milford, formerly of Bridgeport, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Saint Joseph Center in Trumbull.

She was the widow of George Lumas.Ann was born in Swoyersville, Pennsylvania to the late John and Susan Olejnik.

Ann was an all around people person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved to cook, bake and fill everyone’s tummy whether you were hungry or not!

Her stuffed cabbage and pierogies were family and friend’s favorites.

She enjoyed hobbies as a quilter for the Linus project with Holy Name of Jesus Church making quilts for children in local hospitals and Paul Newman’s “Hole in the Wall Gang”.

She was also a joyful choir member and active in the Ladies Guild of Holy Name of Jesus Church.

Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the greatest happiness and pride.

Survivors include her loving children, George (Barbara) Lumas, Edward Lumas, Theresa Lumas, Jeanne Pancurak and Janet (John) O’Connell; grandchildren, Jennifer, Andrew (Sam), Timothy (Gina), Danny (Melissa),Melissa (Caleb) Robert (Diana), Matthew (Chelsea), David (Teenie), and Sara (Joe); great grandchildren Cooper, Adalyn, Xander, Grayson, Cole, Isabelle and Wyatt; brother, Bernard Olejnik; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 10:00 AM directly at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave, Stratford.

There will be no calling hours. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those who so desire may make contributions in her memory to “Hole in the Wall Gang” or charity of one's choice the family would like to thank the staff of Saint Joseph center for the wonderful care they provided for their mother.
