Obituary: John Charles Jackson, 73, of Milford
John was a longtime dedicated teacher at Joseph A. Foran High School, loving family man and devoted member of the community.

MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) John Charles Jackson, 73, of Milford, beloved husband of Janice (Murphy) Jackson for nearly 50 years, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2022 at Bridgeport Hospital, with his loving wife by his side.
Born on July 16, 1948 in Milford, CT, he was the son of the late John B. and Barbara (Daniels) Jackson.
John graduated from Jonathan Law High School, Central CT State University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts and earned his 5th year Teaching Certificate from the University of Bridgeport.
He went on to teach at Milford High School until the opening of Joseph A. Foran High School, where he worked until his retirement in 2002.
John enjoyed teaching and working with his students on automobiles (and other Tech Ed courses). He enjoyed drag racing Camaros and his 1972 Chevy Nova at Connecticut Dragway; Lebanon Valley, New York; Epping, New Hampshire; Englishtown, New Jersey; Reading, Pennsylvania; and Long Island Dragway.
John enjoyed traveling, with his wife, through the New England states to visit family members in Maine. He especially enjoyed Niagara Falls and Nova Scotia in Canada.
John and Janice enjoyed many road trips riding their Harley-Davidson motorcycles and their electric blue trike. They also enjoyed automotive and antique flea markets, as well as country fairs.
John enjoyed target shooting and was an avid reader especially enjoying American history. He was an outspoken person and enjoyed spirited conversations. John was a member of the Ansonia Rod and Gun Club, the NHRA, and the Milford Senior Center.
In addition to his cherished wife, John is survived by his brother, Daniel K. Jackson; by his brother-in-law, Thomas C (Christine) Murphy, Jr.; sister-in-law, Sharon (James) Feero; sister-in-law, Patricia (John) Sember; sister-in-law, Lori (Andrew) Starrett; and by many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Charlene Murphy and Charles J. Jackson.
The family wishes to thank the ICU medical staff at Bridgeport Hospital for their compassionate care.
All services will be private. The family is being cared for by the staff at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 BROAD ST., MILFORD, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.
