Slossberg, Milford Students Celebrate Read Across America Day
Sen. Glossberg visited Live Oaks Elementary School on Dr. Seuss's birthday to read with students as part of the 20th annual event.

From the Office of the Senator: Senator Gayle Slossberg (D-Milford) visited Live Oaks Elementary School in Milford on March 2nd, Dr. Seuss’s birthday, to read with students as part of the 20th annual National Read Across America Day. Slossberg is one of many volunteers across the country who visited schools today to read with students and talk with students about how reading has been important in his life.
“I can’t imagine a better way to begin my day than reading with Mrs. Sokol’s students,” said Senator Slossberg. “It’s always a pleasure to visit the young students at Live Oaks Elementary School. I’m glad to have been able to take part in Read Across America Day, and hope I was able to help in some way instill a love of reading in this great group of young students.”
Read Across America is a nationwide initiative created by the National Education Association to encourage reading among students. National Read Across America Day is one part of this initiative, and is held on the school day closest to March 2, Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Every year, guest readers are invited into schools to read with children and promote the values of reading.
