The Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America Celebration Comes to Milford

ESPN will broadcast the opening ceremonies for the olympics live on July 25.

The Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America, a historic event with three simultaneous torch runs held from east to west coast, is scheduled to kickoff the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles, CA and pass through Milford on Saturday, May 30 at the Milford Green from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Residents are invited to join the City of Milford’s celebration of the Unified Relay as the torch passes through the town.

The event will feature an awards ceremony, face painting, field games and cheering on the Milford relay team as they carry the torch through Milford.

With 7,000 athletes and 3,000 coaches representing 177 countries, along with 30,000 volunteers and over 500,000 spectators, the 2015 Special Olympics World Games, beginning July 25 through August 2, will be the single biggest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games.

The opening ceremonies will be broadcasted by ESPN live on July 25.
