Subway's 'Jared' Has Home Raided In Child Porn Investigation: Reports

Jared Fogle was not reported arrested but had electronics taken from his home.

Federal and state authorities in Indiana raided the home of Subway spokesman Jared Fogle on Tuesday in connection with a child pornography investigation, according to multiple news reports.

Fogle, who has been the face of Milford-based Subway for years, was not reported arrested.

FBI agents and Indiana State Police arrived at his Zionsville home early Tuesday morning.

Electronics were reportedly taken from his home.

Fogle was reported detained but not under arrest as authorities analyze the seized electronics inside of a mobile forensics fan.

His wife and children left the home as the raid was under way.

The Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is leading the investigation.

The Associated Press reported late Tuesday afternoon that Fogle and Subway have agreed to suspend their relationship during the investigation.

Subway removed references on its website to Fogle and said that Fogle expects “no actions to be forthcoming.”

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Subway released the following statement:

“We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee. We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely. We don’t have any more details at this point.”

Fogle’s attorney Ron Elberger released a statement about the investigation:

“Jared has been cooperating with law enforcement and its investigation of certain unspecified activities and looks forward to its conclusion.

Jared has not been arrested, detained or charged with anything.”

In April, Russell Taylor, the director of Fogle’s Jared Foundation, was arrested on child pornography and child exploitation charges. The foundation immediately severed ties with Taylor.

Fogle rose to fame in 1999 after losing over 200 pounds on a diet of Subway sandwiches. He became a national spokesperson for the sandwich franchise, appearing in its national ad campaigns.

He started the Jared Foundation in 2004 to encourage children to exercise and eat healthy.
