YOUnity Yoga Opens Downtown Milford

From YOUnity Yoga: What does wellness mean in your life? Does it mean health? Strength or stress reduction? I was not sure many years ago. I am sure now. Wellness to me means the ability of the body and mind to cope. To do that one must be resilient in body, mind and spirit.

It seems so recent to me that I was unable to walk and had difficulty reading or even talking.(6 years ago) I could not work, drive or even do simple math. This month, my wife Barbara and I are opening a wellness center right in downtown Milford atop the Afonso building at 189 Main St. I had been sick for years with Chronic Lyme Disease (my wife Barbara as well). That story, if you would like, I will share with you another time. What I would like to share is what helped. What gave me abilities? What helped me persevere in my battle? The Doctors were there, but it was me that allowed them to do the work of healing.

I was one of the lucky ones. I had faith and I had tools. The faith I will let others impart to you. The tools we can share. You see I had training in Tai Chi, Yoga, meditation, massage and other practices. I firmly believe that without these and support I would not be here today to share with you. Those practices helped my wife and I open our first wellness center in Uxbridge, MA. Those same practices helped me be resolute in the face of something I had never met before. I came to be more of a believer than I thought I ever could.

That brings us to now. The rebirth of something we had before. We have a community of professionals with the intent to bring wellness to others. We are proud to announce the opening of "YOU"nity Yoga and Wellness in downtown Milford. Come take a tour and see what we have built. Please check out our far infrared sauna, Biomat and Aqua Massage equipment. Come meet our incredible massage therapists, Reiki practitioners, Reiki instructors, sound therapists and more. See the beautiful space we have created in the penthouse on the 4th floor of the Afonso building. This space will be used for Yoga, Tai Chi and meditation classes. Your first class will be free! We will of course be offering opening specials. For any purchase over $50 you will receive a free Aqua Massage treatment. Check out our sound healing workshops, our Thai stretch workshops and so much more. We are proud yet humbled by those who have chosen to work with us. Once you meet them you will understand why this facility is about "YOU”.

Please note we will be offering a support group for those who deal with Lyme Disease either directly or through family and friends. Our first meeting will be March 16th, Thursday at 7pm. All are welcome to come and share what you know, questions you have or common experiences.
