$25,000 Gaming Chip Stolen From Casino-Goer: Report
A N.Y. woman allegedly stole a $25,000 gaming chip, $10,000 in cash and more from a casino-goer. She requested a jury trial.

MONTVILLE, CT — In February 2015, Moira Canty of Rockville Centre, N.Y., was arrested on a larceny in the first degree charge following a party at Mohegan Sun Casino.
The 42-year-old woman allegedly took multiple items from Joseph Horiuchi, a man from California who was attending a holiday party at the casino.
According to The Day, Canty allegedly took the following from Horiuchi:

- A $25,000 gaming chip
- Rolex
- Apple TV unit
- $10,000 in cash
The woman reportedly tried to cash out the chip, which is back in the casino’s possession. Canty did not accept two offers for case resolution as reportedly wants a jury trial.
