Driver Killed In Montville Crash, Police Say

A driver struck a guardrail, rock wall, a building, and a utility pole in the Thursday evening accident, according to police.

MILFORD, CT — A driver is dead following a single-vehicle accident in Montville on Thursday evening, according to police.

The vehicle was driving southbound on Route 32 at 5:45 p.m. approaching the intersection with Route 63.

The vehicle then veered to the right for an "unknown reason" and hit a metal beam guardrail.

The vehicle continued on Route 32 before striking a rock wall, a traffic light, a building, and a utility pole.

The driver was taken to Backus Hospital and later died due to their injuries.

The person's identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
