Corrigan Correctional Officer Assaulted Elderly Inmate: Police
A corrections officer is facing an assault charge and is accused of attacking an elderly inmate, according to state police.

MONTVILLE, CT — A Corrigan Correctional officer is accused of assaulting an elderly inmate, according to state police.
Todd Blevons, 42, turned himself in on a warrant to state police Troop E in Montville on Wednesday. He was charged with third-degree assault on an elderly person.
The arrest came after a criminal investigation that began in April in which Blevons was alleged to have used excessive force against an inmate at Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville.

In November, Blevons patted down a 66-year-old inmate who told police that he was "thrown to the ground and injured," according to an arrest warrant. He is also accused of holding the inmate down on the ground while other correction officers jumped on him and spraying him with pepper spray.
The inmate said he suffered several injuries including broken ribs and had to get eight stitches over his right eye due to the assault, according to the arrest warrant.

Blevons was released on $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on Dec. 5.
