C'mon, Montville! Here's an idea: Take your grandma and grandpa to the fair!

The 2012 Ledyard Fair plans to celebrate what's unique about Ledyard today, which means small town traditions and its agricultural and rural culture.

People will be given "I love Ledyard Fair" buttons at the gate and as always, children 10 and under will get in for free, children age 11-17 get in for $5, general admission is $8 and seniors get in for $5.

Today is the last day of the fair and it's open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday ride braceletts are good for the whole day

But aside from all the rides, fairgoers will find animal exhibitions, displays of handiwork like quilting, crochet, plus tons of hobbies and fair pasttimes like canning, baking and flower exhibits. There is also a petting zoo, games, food, music and comic entertainment throughout the fair grounds.

Parking is free at the and the and the fair provides a free shuttle bus to and from each lot throughout the day.

Today may or may not be little wet. According to Wunderground, today will be partly cloudy with a chance of a thunderstorm and a chance of rain with a high of 77. Tonight is forecast to be partly cloudy in the evening, then clear with a low of 54.
