Mohegan Tribe Considers 'All Options' On Connecticut Sun's Future
The WNBA team has played at Mohegan Sun since 2003, but what its future holds is far from certain.

UNCASVILLE, CT — The Connecticut Sun is exploring all options for the franchise's future, which include selling and relocating the team, according to reports.
The team is owned by the Mohegan Tribe and has played at Mohegan Sun Arena since 2003, when the tribe purchased the Orlando Miracle for $10 million.
The team has hired investment bank Allen & Co. to conduct a review of its business, WTNH News-8 reported. Sun President Jen Rizzotti said no decision has been made and that there isn't a timeline.

If a deal goes through, the franchise would move out of the state, according to WFSB 3-TV.
However, Rizzotti said that most teams explore the possibility of selling as part of evaluating their business.

She characterized the move as "responsible owners doing responsible things and exploring strategic options," according to WFSB 3-TV.
The Sun does not have a modern practice facility, which has been a source of contention, WTNH News-8 reported. The Sun practice at the arena in the casino or at a local community center.

Meanwhile, the WNBA is growing rapidly. Last year, the league had its most-watched season in 24 years, finished with its highest attendance in 22 years, and set records for digital consumption and merchandise sales.
More than 54 million people watched the WNBA last year, with 22 regular season games attracting at least 1 million viewers, according to the league.
