Montville Patch, Let’s Try This Again

An acute technical issue has been fixed and we are back rocking-and-rolling at Montville Patch.

Last Monday was my first day as the editor of Montville Patch.

Obviously, like any first day, I wanted to make a good impression. While I have worked at Patch for the past 2-½ years, this was my first venture into Montville, and I wanted it to turn out well.

The first few days went fine, I met a lot of nice people and wrote some good stories. Then, Wednesday night, something went wrong with the site, and it turned out to be worse than expected. Basically, I couldn't post anything to the homepage.

It took until Monday afternoon before it was fully fixed and I could post on the homepage again. Meanwhile, my site had sat frozen in time since Wednesday night, with the thoughts of a good impression quickly running out of my head.

But it is fixed now and should be fixed for good. So that’s a relief. Of course, at this point, I have given up any hope of a good first impression, and just hope the site continues to work.

So it’s a new day at Montville Patch, one where the site works and I can post onto the homepage again. But I feel like a guy who went on a first date, and before the appetizer even came, spilled red wine all over my nicest white shirt.

So I ask you, after I metaphorically went home and changed, to give me a fresh start. I really am excited to start covering Montville, and look forward to meeting many of you,

Paul Petrone
