Montville Police To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoints

The checkpoints are coming up later this month.

MONTVILLE, CT — Montville police will conduct sobriety checkpoints in various locations around town Aug. 30.

The checkpoints will be on high-traffic roads like Route 85, Route 32, Route 82, and Route 163. The checks will occur between 5 p.m., Aug. 30, and 4 a.m., Aug. 31.

"The purpose of the checkpoint is to further educate the motoring public and strengthen the public's awareness of the need of detecting and removing those motorists who operate under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs from our roadways," police said in a statement.
