Montville Police Rescue Injured Owl
A driver spotted the injured bird on the side of the road recently and informed police.
MONTVILLE, CT — Montville police recently helped rescue an injured owl. A driver spotted the owl on the side of the road near Route 163 and Chesterfield Road.
The driver noticed that the owl wasn't flying away and appeared to be injured. The driver contacted police and an officer responded.
The officer found the owl was hurt and had most likely been struck by a vehicle, police said in a Facebook post.

The officer took the owl to Freedom First Wildlife Rehab in Waterford. They will evaluate the owl and if possible, attempt to rehab it back to full health. If the owl can make a full recovery, the rehab center will release it back into the area where it was found.
"Excellent job by an observant motorist," police wrote in the post. "This is one of the many different types of calls we receive and why we have to 'wear many hats.'"
