New Food Festival Coming This Summer To Mohegan Sun

UNCASVILLE, CT — Mohegan Sun will debut a new food and culture festival this summer called Taste of the Mediterranean, organizers announced Thursday.

The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 2 to 6 p.m. on the venue’s Sun Patio. Attendees will be able to sample a range of regional dishes, listen to live music, and watch dance performances inspired by coastal Mediterranean traditions.

“Taste of the Mediterranean at Mohegan Sun brings together regional favorites for a one-day celebration of coastal cuisine, entertainment, and cultural flair,” the event’s announcement stated.

Local restaurants and food vendors will offer both full-size meals and $5 tapas during the open-air event. In addition to sampling food, guests can vote for their favorite dish in the People’s Choice competition.

A designated “Charcuterie Corner” will allow attendees to create their own charcuterie cups filled with cured meats, cheeses, and Mediterranean-style accompaniments.

Entertainment will include a live DJ and traditional dance performances reflecting the cultures of the Mediterranean coast.

The event is open to all ages. Tickets are currently available through Ticketmaster and the Mohegan Sun Box Office. General admission includes entry only, with food and drink available for purchase.

Guests can also take part in a promotional game called “Shoot Your Shot,” hosted by Mohegan Sun Online Casino. Participants who download the app and place a $10 wager will be eligible for up to three chances to win cash prizes by shooting lemons into oversized shot glasses.

The festival will also feature a roaming “Strolling Cannoli Maker” offering free hand-filled cannoli.

A 21-and-over VIP upgrade includes a welcome glass of champagne, unlimited drink samples from select vendors, a charcuterie voucher, and a swag bag with items from sponsors. VIP guests will have access to a private lounge area.
