One Dead After Fire Destroys Montville Home: Reports

Local responders were called to the inferno at 3:20 a.m. Friday.

MONTVILLE, CT — One person was found dead inside a home in Montville after it was destroyed by fire early Friday morning, according to multiple reports.

WFSB Channel 3 said the homeowner's remains were found inside what was left of the home, which was destroyed by intense flames and heavy smoke.

Channel 3 reported responders were called to the blaze at 3:20 a.m. Friday.

As a result of the fire, which took place on Kitemaug Road, Route 32 to Massapeag and Kitemaug roads was closed Friday morning so crews could work the scene, WTNH Channel 8 reported.

WTNH reported that the deceased man, who has yet to be identified, was the home's lone occupant.
