Popular Mohegan Sun Restaurant Reopens With New Look, Name
A Casino of the Earth establishment has undergone a "transformation" under the guidance of an accomplished restaurateur.

UNCASVILLE, CT — A new Italian restaurant, The Farm Italy Mohegan Sun, opened Friday in the Casino of the Earth, taking over the former Ballo Italian space.
The restaurant is led by restaurateur John Tunney, who also operated Ballo Italian. The revamped venue preserves the original architectural layout but introduces a new design inspired by the Italian countryside. The updated space features custom lighting, imported trees, textured brick walls, and a marble bar set beneath gold-accented archways.

“The transformation of Ballo Italian into The Farm Italy Mohegan Sun is a true evolution of everything we love about Italian food and hospitality,” Tunney said in a statement. “We’re beyond excited to welcome guests into this next chapter.”
Dining areas are separated by arched colonnades and greenery to create a mix of privacy and open space. The restaurant will serve dinner seven days a week, starting at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 3 p.m. on weekends.

The menu includes traditional Italian fare such as pappardelle Bolognese, chicken Parmesan, and branzino with lemon and broccolini. The bar will feature a selection of Italian-inspired cocktails, including a blood orange margarita and a strawberry basil Aperol spritz, alongside non-alcoholic options like a cucumber spritz mocktail.
“The Farm Italy is another standout from John Tunney,” Mohegan Sun President Jeff Hamilton said in a statement. “His team has transformed this space into something fresh and full of new energy.”
The Farm Italy is located next to The Shed, another recent addition to Mohegan Sun’s dining lineup.
