Speed Limit Changed On Two Roads In Montville
The limits are higher in some places and lower in others.

MONTVILLE, NJ — Drivers, check your speedometers: the speed limit on Main Road (US 202) and Whitehall Road in Montville have changed. The changes go into effect immediately.
The speed limit on Main Road used to be 35 miles per hour. Now, the speed limit is as follows:
- 35 miles per hour from the southerly Montville Township line to the center of the northerly southbound entrance from Interstate 287
- 40 miles per hour to the center of Park Avenue – Whitehall Road
- 30 miles per hour to the center of Indian Hill Road – Firehouse Road
- 40 miles per hour to the northerly Montville Township Line
The limit was also changed on Whitehall Road between Main and Firehouse road. That speed limit was dropped from 45 miles per hour down to 30 miles per house. The signs will be changed and the limits will be enforced, town officials said.
